From Philomathean Society

The Philomathean Society administers a large and varied collection of material in its Archives, including documents, reports and photographs dating back to the society's foundation.

The purpose of the Archives is to protect and preserve these historical treasures whilst serving as an accessible repository of, and inspiration for, great Philomathean works and deeds of the present and the future.

The current Archivist is Miss Amber Lorraine Weekes.

The Archivist's hours for Spring 2010 will be Mondays from 6-8pm. If you would like to visit the archives at any other time, or would like the archivist to secure information from a record for you, please contact the Archivist.

Archival Reorganisation The Archive is about to undergo a serious reorganisation effort in order to establish a systematic catalogue and classification system. This, as you can imagine, is a fairly large undertaking, so please bear with the Archives and your humble Archivist over the next weeks and months as progress is made. The aims, goals and method of the Archival Reorganisation can be found in the Archival White Paper here. Please direct comments, suggestions, modifications and requests to the Archivist as soon as possible.
